How large is the inner compartment of the box?
The inner compartment of the standard JIB Box measures 19” wide x 13” deep x 13” tall. The container can hold several packages or grocery bags. It is designed to receive 90% of all packages shipped.
The inner compartment for the XL model measures 30” x 13.5” x 15” to accommodate your packages if you have extra large deliveries.
Does the lock require batteries?
No batteries are needed for the JIB Box Secure Baltic or Sintra models. These models utilize a mechanical digital lock and do not require any batteries. The JIB Box Connected model utilizes electronic locks for programming and connectivity to your internet and smart phone. These models use 4 AA batteries (supplied). With the JIB Box Basic, a lock is not included.
Does the delivery person need a code or credentials to open or lock the box?
No. All JIB Box models are designed for ease of delivery. The delivery person does not need any code, credentials, keys, etc. to lock the box. The delivery person simply places the delivered package into the box, closes the cover, and rotates the knob or pushes the lock button on the exterior to lock.
What routers and smart phones is the JIB Box Connected compatible with?
The JIB Box Connected is compatible with most Apple and Android phones and internet routers. In general, it is recommended your smart phone is a compatible Apple device that is working on IOS version 12 or greater, or a comparable Android device; and your WiFi router needs to be a minimum of 2.4 GHz and be password protected with WPA2 encryption.
Is the lock weather resistant?
Yes. All locks are weather resistant and designed for exterior use. It is recommended all electronic locks are used under an awning away from direct rain or snow. All electronic locks will ultimately fail when exposed to water.
How do I secure the box to my porch?
A securing kit is included with the JIB Box including 4 cement screws and a masonry drill bit. Four holes are pre-drilled in the bottom of the box to insert the screws and attach to the porch.
How does the delivery person know to put the package into the JIB Box?
The JIB Box was designed to make it easier for the delivery person. Multiple labeling on the JIB Box indicates to insert the package into the JIB Box and lock without any codes, keys or credentials.
Can my child get locked in the box?
The JIB Box is designed so that it cannot automatically lock. To lock the JIB Box, the knob or button on the exterior of the lock must be activated from the outside of the box. This is designed to prevent a person from locking themselves into the box.
How can I change the lock combination?
The mechanical digital locks on the JIB Box Secure Baltic or Sintra models come pre-set with a unique combination. Changing the combination is difficult and not recommended. If you have a strong need to change the combination, please email us at customerservice@jibbox.com for details on the process.
The electronic locks on the JIB Box Connected are programmable. During the setup of the lock, you will be able to set your desired combination.
The JIB Box Basic does not come with a lock, so no combination is necessary.
What if I forget my lock combination?
We strongly recommend you keep your combination in a secure place for reference. If you forget your combination, please email us at customerservice@jibbox.com for assistance.
How do I get warranty service?
Please email us at customerservice@jibbox.com including a description of the problem and your name, address, phone number, a sales order number, purchase date or other purchasing information that will help us identify your product.
Why isn’t shipping included in the price?
Due to the need for a secure box, the weight of the box is such that the shipping cost to different states can vary greatly. Our judgement is that the most fair way to charge the shipping cost is for it to be calculated based on each purchaser’s location.
